With modern science, we have access to countless types of over-the-counter and prescription medicine to heal our ailments. While this quick and easy access has helped improve our lives, sometimes we don’t need to head to our local pharmacy. Some remedies are natural and can be found inside your home, just like your grandmother told you.
Common Cold: Garlic naturally has antibiotic, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties. Mince 1-2 cloves of garlic into a glass of water and drink.
Fever: Cinnamon can stabilize your blood sugar, relieve a cough, congestion, and help your fever. Put 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of honey into a cup of tea to lower your fever.
Ear Infection or Ache: Hydrogen Peroxide breaks down earwax and in case of infection, kills bacteria inside the ear. Lay on your side with troubling ear facing upwards, have another person place a single drop of hydrogen peroxide in your ear, and wait until bubbling sound stops.
Stomach Ache, Nausea, & Vomiting: Ginger has been used for a host of different stomach issues for a very long time. Place ginger inside of hot water and allow it to soak. Take the ginger out, place it in the freezer, and wait. Then crush the frozen ginger into cubes that you can then suck on.
Sinus Infection: When you get a sinus infection, your sinuses are inflammed to the point where bacteria starts to build. To soothe the swollen sinuses, buy a humidifier or inhale warm vapors from a hot shower, hot tea or cider.
Remember, sometimes natural remedies are all you need to start feeling better. However, if your symptoms persist it’s always best to see a doctor to discuss treatment options.
